Mauldin Art Contest

Are you a local artist looking to make a splash?

Then you should know the city of Mauldin is inviting all visual artists, whether you work solo or as a team, to submit proposals for the Mauldin Public Art Trail.

The selected artist will create work in any medium, which will be on display for the next ten years.

The work should reflect a specific theme.

This year’s theme?

“Youth: Passion for Change.”

The maximum budget for the project is $15,000, which includes all artist’s fees as well, so keep that in mind.

Applicants must be South Carolina residents – if you’re an art student from out of state here for college, you’re out of luck.

Applicants of all ages are encouraged to apply, although experience with public art projects such as this is a plus. So although the project is all about youth, the wisdom of age is still just as if not more valuable – so no worries to all you older artists out there.

Send in an application by Monday, March 18, at 5pm to the Mauldin Office of Cultural Affairs. Here’s a link to the full application, which includes a lot more of the specifics.
