As the death toll from vaping continues to rise across the United States – currently 13 people have reportedly died due to vaping, with nearly a thousand cases of serious health concerns – states have begun instituting crackdowns on the vaping industry.
Health officials are warning people to stop vaping “immediately” after the latest death in Oregon, which were linked to vaping devices which contained THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.
But some store owners say the severity of the response from state officials is a death knell for their businesses, and call the restrictions that may soon be put in place by states such as Oregon and Massachusetts, the latter of is seeking a four-month ban on all vaping products, are a death knell for the industry.
