81 yo arrested and charged; Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor

A Fair Play man is behind bars today, charged with 7 counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

The Oconee County Sheriff's Office began investigating 81 year old Arthur Vaughn Reynolds in October 20-19 after being notified of possible criminal sexual conduct.  

The case initially went to the Child/Elder Abuse division, but after further investigation, authorities determined Reynolds violated a young girl between the fall of 2012 and 2018 according to arrest warrants. 

The young victim was between the ages of 6 and 11 during the time of the abuse.

The Oconee County Sheriff's Office continues their investigation. 

Reynolds was arrested Thursday and is being held in the Oconee County Detention Center.

(Walhalla, SC)---The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Fair Play man yesterday on multiple counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor.
81 year old Arthur Vaughn Reynolds was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 2:19pm Wednesday on a Temporary Custody Order until warrants were obtained today charging Reynolds with seven counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – Third Degree and one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – First Degree.
The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation back on October 28th of last year after being notified and first being made aware of a reported criminal sexual conduct. 
The investigation was turned over to the Child/Elder Abuse investigator with the Sheriff’s Office. 
As the investigation continued and evidence was gathered in the case, it was determined that Reynolds had sexually assaulted the victim, according to arrest warrants, between the fall of 2012 until the fall of 2018. 
At the time, the female victim was between the ages of six and eleven. 
The incidents involved one victim and occurred inside of Oconee County. 
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation. 
Due to the continuation of the investigation and to preserve its integrity and that of the victim, the Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing any further information at this time, including the relationship between the suspect and the victim.
