A now-former teacher was arrested Tuesday morning after a report of an alleged sexual battery incident with a student in 2012.
Anderson County Sheriff’s Office officials report Douglas William Brooks, now of York, S.C., was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The alleged April 2012 sexual battery incident reportedly happened on school property at Belton-Honea Path High School where Brooks was working as a band director.
Authorities with the school system say they were unaware of the incident.
