OFFICERS ARREST 4 WITH GUNS AND DRUGS
Moments after midnight last night, officers heard what they recognized as several gunshots in the area of Pearl Street.
Officers and deputies were nearby and in the neighborhood within seconds.
A group of 4 men were observed standing around a vehicle, so an officer stopped to ask them if they heard the shots or saw anything.
While speaking with the men, spent shell casings were observed around the vehicle at the men's feet.
One subject attempted to hand something off behind his back to another individual, at which time officers moved to detain the man.
He resisted the officer and dropped a bag which contained what appeared to be a large quantity of marijuana.
The other subjects were detained and searched, finding two of them to be possessing bags of marijuana.
One subject attempted to run from officers after being handcuffed, but was quickly caught.
Police spoke to a bystander, who when asked if one of the men had been shooting a firearm, stated, "Everybody was shooting guns."
Based on the shell casings directly under the vehicle and the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle, officers searched it.
Officers located 2 long guns, a .40 caliber handgun, a .38 cal revolver, and 3 magazines of 9mm ammunition matching what was found on the ground.
