WASHINGTON (AP) - Federal authorities have arrested an Army soldier who is accused of discussing a possible bomb attack with an FBI informant and targeting left-leaning activists and a media organization.
Jarrett William Smith, a 24-year-old private from South Carolina stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, was charged with sharing bomb-making instructions online.
Smith discussed presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke with an undercover informant.
O'Rourke's campaign said it takes all threats seriously.
