Deputies attempted to pull over a reckless driver on Moores Mill Road in Piedmont Wednesday night around 8:30pm.
Sergeant J.T. Foster said the driver, in a Nissan, would not stop and a chase ensued. After using tire deflation devices, the driver wrecked off of Ivy Circle.
With all four tires flat, the driver then backed up into a patrol car. When they would not exit the vehicle, Deputies approached to remove the driver.
According to Sgt. Foster, at that time the driver reached for a gun in the passenger side of the car. An Anderson County K-9 Deputy was used to detain the driver.
The driver was arrested. Deputies are investigating and all charges are pending at this time.
