The autopsy of 6-year-old Faye Marie Swetlik has revealed her cause of death to be asphyxiation.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said that Faye Marie Swetlik appeared to have died only a few hours after her disappearance on Monday last week.
Three days later, on Thursday, investigators found a clue about her disappearance in a neighbor's trash can.
Her body was later found in the woods nearby.
The neighbor whose trash can held the clue, 30-year-old Coty Scott Taylor was found dead in his home moments later.
Coroner Fisher said in a press release that an autopsy of Tayler found that he died to an incised wound to his neck. It was determined to be a suicide.
The investigation is still ongoing.
A public memorial of the young girl is being held Friday evening at Trinity Baptist Church in Cayce.
