The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges against a subject who was involved in a pursuit with a Sheriff’s Office deputy yesterday.

25 year old Brandon (aka Bradon) Lee Ashley Potter was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 1:52am this morning.

Potter has no fixed address, according to the Oconee County Detention Center, while arrest warrants list Potter’s address as Garrett Avenue in Charleston.

Potter was cited in traffic tickets with one count each of Driving under Suspension, Failure to stop for a Blue Light, Operating an Uninsured Vehicle and Operating a Vehicle that is not Registered.

Potter has also been charged in arrest warrants with Possession of Methamphetamine and Furnishing Contraband into a Detention Facility.

Yesterday morning, a deputy from the P.A.C.E. (Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement) team observed a blue in color hatchback style vehicle without a rear bumper disregard a stop sign at excessive speed at the intersection of Highway 24 at Bethel Church Road and Snow Creek Road.

The deputy also observed the same vehicle pass on a double yellow line.

The deputy observed the vehicle turn into Coneross Point and the deputy lost sight of the vehicle.

The vehicle came back out of Coneross Point, passed the deputy, whereupon the deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

The deputy informed dispatch that a pursuit was in progress.

Besides lights and sirens being activated, the Pursuit Alert system was activated as well.

The pursuit made its way towards the Tokeena Crossroads area, eventually making its way down Deer Knoll Drive off of Highway 59.

During the course of the pursuit, the vehicle being pursued went into a ditch and came back out onto the roadway.

The pursuit came to an end and the driver of the vehicle was placed into custody after a foot pursuit.

Potter was transported, upon request, to the hospital for treatment.

After being released from the hospital, Potter was transported to the Oconee County Detention Center.

Upon arrival at the Detention Center, the deputy was notified by a Detention Officer that a small bag containing a white crystal substance had fallen out of one of Potter’s pants legs.

The substance was seized and placed into evidence.

At this time, Potter remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
