Two children have been found safe and a suspect is in custody after a statewide AMBER Alert was issued this weekend.

The alert went out on Saturday from Newberry after 11 year-old Tommir and 6 year-old Ommira Toland were taken from their home.

Their father, 43 year-old Tommy Lee Toland who does not have custody, reportedly came into to their house and took them around 10 AM.

He took them to a house an hour away in Calhoun County.

He left them in the house when he found out about the AMBER Alert.

The children were found safe.

Toland, a Tier III sex offender, returned to the house a short time later and was arrested around 4 PM.

Toland was charged with burglary and two counts of kidnapping.
