A survey from ooVoo in 2013 showed Halloween is the favorite holiday of millennials.  The spooky holiday garnered 51% of the votes with Christmas in second place with 39%.

Brian Burch, a scare actor at Mad World, gave his views on why millennials go mad for Halloween.

More and more people buy costumes for Halloween, but there has been a return to handmade costumes, particularly in the cosplay realm.  One Halloween celebrator bought part of her costume and hand-made other parts.

 

 

The National Retail Federation reports Halloween spending is expected to reach $8.8 billion this year.  These Halloween shoppers were surprised at how early the merchandise was for sale in stores.

You might see children carrying blue candy buckets this year.  Orange isn't being replaced; the blue buckets are a signal that the child may have a disability.  Dr. Cynthia Doney, professor at Liberty University and mom of three, spoke about the advent of the blue bucket and its benefits.
