
COVID-19 numbers are increasing across the state and in Greenville County.
At a press conference today with the City of Greenville, Dr. Brannon Traxler of DHEC reported on state COVID-19 statistics.
For June 11th, DHEC announced 687 new cases of COVID-19 and 13 COVID-19 related deaths statewide.
This brought the cumulative number of cases in the state to 16,441 cases and 588 deaths.
Greenville County had 125 new cases on June 11th.
On June 10th, Greenville County reported 145 new cases, the highest number of cases one day in the county since the pandemic began.
Thus far, the total number of cases in Greenville County comes to 2,492 cases.
Today's two deaths in the county brings the total number of deaths in Greenville County to 67.
Dr. Traxler reports Greenville County is one of the hotspots of COVID-19 in South Carolina.
She reminded that social distancing, hand washing and santization, and mask wearing are vital to fighting COVID-19.
"We need all South Carolinians to take these precautions every day," Dr. Traxler said.
