Detroit Murderer Arrested in Anderson

The United States Marshals Service made an arrest in Anderson of a fugitive who was wanted for a 2012 murder in Detroit.

U.S. Marshals report Lauren Ratlff, wanted on first-degree murer, armed robbery, two counts of unlawful imprisonment, and assault with intent to murder, was arrested on January 24th.


Approximately seven years ago, Detroit Police officers found the victim, Tamika Brooks, dead inside a burning car.

Brooks and her boyfriend Julian Brogan were both shot before the car was set on fire, according to the police investigation.

Brogan survived, U.S. Marshals Service officials report.

The USMS Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team received assistance from the USMS Carolina’s Regional Fugitive Task Force Greenville Division

The two teams' search for Ratliff in Anderson led to her afternoon arrest earlier this week.
