The drive-through graduation for Bob Jones Academy Seniors will be held Thursday May 14th from 2pm-4pm.

In a press release by Chief of Staff/Office of the President Randy Page, "Seniors have been encouraged to decorate their vehicles and wear full regalia."

The rolling graduation will take place in front of the main Academy building.  Route information below.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (May 13, 2020) – Bob Jones Academy will hold a drive-through graduation Thursday, May 14, at 2 p.m. in front of the main Academy building. Seniors have been encouraged to decorate their vehicles and wear full regalia. Teachers and other well-wishers will line the procession. Mr. Larry Hunt, BJA high school principal, will greet students and hand them their diplomas. All events will be livestreamed via the Academy Facebook page.

Members of the media are invited to attend. You may enter campus through the Wade Hampton Boulevard entrance or the White Oak Drive entrance.

  • From the Wade Hampton Boulevard (1700 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greenville) entrance, go straight as you come onto campus until you come to the end of the street. Turn right. You will pass Alumni Stadium on your left. After you pass Alumni Stadium, you will turn left at the next street (Stadium View Drive) and then left into the Press parking lot.
  • From East North Street, you may enter campus through the White Oak Drive entrance near the BJU Cleaners (first entrance on your right). As you come on campus, turn right at the first street (Stadium View Drive) and parking will be on your left in the Press parking lot across from the Academy buildings.

 

 

April 30, 2020 - The COVID-19 Pandemic has certainly got creative juices pumping, searching for alternatives to traditional methods...

Bob Jones Academy will hold a drive-through graduation in front of the main Academy building on Thursday, May 14th at 2pm. 

"Graduates will participate in a unique processional while remaining in their vehicles" said Randy Page, Chief of Staff, in a press release. 

This year marks the 93rd graduating class... and one to definitely go down in the history books.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 30, 2020) – In lieu of a traditional graduation ceremony, Bob Jones Academy will hold a drive-through graduation Thursday, May 14, at 2 p.m. in front of the main Academy building. 
Due to social distancing guidelines, graduates will participate in a unique processional while remaining in their vehicles. 
A task force including parents, students and Academy leadership is developing details of the innovative sendoff in an effort to celebrate the senior class.
The event will be livestreamed on the school’s Facebook page. 
“This graduating class has missed many of their senior year milestones including the much beloved Junior-Senior Banquet,” said Dr. Dan Nelson, BJA administrator.
“I trust they will enjoy this unforgettable celebration and know that the faculty and staff love them and wish God’s blessings upon them as they enter the next chapter of their lives.” 
Seniors hope to have a summer social to be held in the Quadrangle should social distancing restrictions be lifted. This year marks the 93rd graduating class. 
Founded in 1927, Bob Jones Academy is an independent Christian school in Greenville, South Carolina, serving students in preschool through grade 12.
