The South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated a fatal single vehicle collision in Spartanburg County.
Trooper Joe Hovis reports the collision occurred Saturday evening at approximately 8:15PM when the rider of a 1999 Suzuki motorcycle ran off SC Highway 101 about 5 miles south of Greer, struck a curb and fell into a ditch.
The rider was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene.
The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 55 year-old Edward Ransom of Duncan.
