The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help today regarding a fraud investigation that stretches to other parts of the Carolinas.
Investigators are also asking for the public’s help in identifying an individual in relation to this investigation.
A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division spoke with the victim during the afternoon hours of March 11th in regards to transaction card fraud.
The deputy was informed that someone had obtained some information from the victim, whereupon multiple card transactions were used at Home Depot locations in the Columbia, SC and Charlotte, NC areas.
According to investigators, the card transactions total over $14,000. The case has been turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
