Gaffney Commuters, a detour is ahead with the closing of a portion of Wilcox Avenue for the next three months.

Upstate motorists should anticipate the closure of a portion of Wilcox Avenue (S-11-668) located northwest of I-85 between Pleasant School Road (S-11-82, Exit 95) and Shelby Highway (SC 18, Exit 96), beginning on August 3, 2020, for approximately three months. 

During this temporary road closure, northbound through traffic on Wilcox Avenue will turn right on Pleasant School Road near the UPS Freight facility, travel over I-85, turn left on Shelby Highway, left again to follow Shelby Highway back over I-85, and then turn back onto Wilcox Avenue.

Through traffic desiring to travel south on Wilcox Avenue will instead take Shelby Highway west, turning right to stay on Shelby Highway, right onto Pleasant School Road, and back onto Wilcox Avenue. 

Local traffic on Wilcox Avenue will be maintained.
