Cherokee County authorities are trying to extradite the man Sheriff's deputies say murdered the mother of his children and buried her in a Gaffney neighborhood vegetable garden.
42 year old Dionicia Nava Abarca is in custody in Baldwin County Alabama charged, for now, with the crime of "unlawful imprisonment."
The Cherokee County murder warrant accuses him of choking 37 year old Alicia Campo Garcia during an argument before the couple left their home Saturday afternoon in Abarca's pickup.
The victim's body was found partially buried in a cornfield Sunday afternoon.
Her children had reported her missing.
The pickup was found in the neighborhood, but investigators say Arbaca had called his 17 year old nephew to drive him to Alabama.
The teen later contacted the Sheriff's office saying he was afraid his uncle had "done something bad."
Anyone with more information about the case is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or 1-888-274-6372.
