Three Upstate schools are working together to design and build a tiny home for the homeless.

According to a release from Greenville County Schools, Greenville Early College (GEC) eighth and ninth grade Civics and English students researched homelessness in Greenville County, concluding the project with the design and construction of a tiny home.

The GEC students partnered with the Fine Arts Center Architecture students for the design process and are now working with construction students at the Donaldson Career Center.

Student Yetzil Hernandez says they are in the final stretch of the project.

Construction is expected to last approximately one more week.

Director of Communications for Greenville County Schools Beth Brotherton says this project is a prime example of what makes Greenville County Schools special.

The students will present the completed project on February 8th at Roper Mountain Science Center as a part of STEM Fest.
