
The way we Powerball is about to change...
Following next Wednesday's Powerball drawing, starting jackpot amounts and increases will be lowered.
The Powerball Product Group decision came down Thursday saying after the April 8th drawing, the starting jackpot will begin at a guaranteed $20 million dollars.
Right now, starting jackpots are a guaranteed $40 million.
Due to the evolving COVID-19 Pandemic, the Product Group has seen a decrease in ticket sales.
A news release stated the changes in how Powerball will played and moving forward, advertised jackpot increments will grow based off sales and interest rates.
In this moment, the current Powerball jackpot is $180M according to the SC Education Lottery website.
The next drawing is Saturday, 4/4/20. According to the Powerball Product Group, if there is no winner Saturday, the whole Kit N Caboodle will grow to a guaranteed $190M for the April 8th drawing.
Now, if there IS a winner Saturday night, the starting jackpot will reset to $20M and continue to grow based off sales and interest.
