Man Arrested After Crime Spree

A Spartanburg man was arrested after a full-on crime spree just before Christmas.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office reports Joseph Scott Vick started his Sunday crimes by stealing a car from a convenience store clerk on Gossett Road.

He then allegedly had several hit-and-runs in the stolen car before driving the car out of city and into county.

In Spartanburg County, he continued the spree by committing burglary, car break-ins, and shoplifting.  

Deputies reportedly spotted him shoplifting before Vick lead them on a car chase.

His vehicle was forcibly stopped.

Vick was bit by a K9 officer after he would not exit the car. as the deputies commanded.

Vick is wanted in NC.

He has been charged with the following:
  • strong-arm robbery
  • three counts of reckless driving
  • three counts of hit-and-run with property damage
  • four counts of car breaking
  • third-degree burglary
  • grand larceny
  • fugitive from justice
