The City of Anderson will require people to wear face coverings starting on July 24th.
According to the ordinance, people must wear face coverings inside retail stores, restaurants, grocery stores, and on public transportation.
Employees of such establishments will have to wear face coverings while interacting with the public.
The ordinance does not require face coverings in outdoor areas, for those whose religious beliefs prevent them from wearing masks, anyone with a medical condition which prevents mask use, and children under 10 years old.
Violations of the ordinance will be considered civil infractions, punishable by a $25 fine.
