
A 29 year old has been charged with murder in the shooting death of George Slade.
Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office were called out to McGarity Street just before 9:00pm Saturday after a man was shot.
The victim, George Slade, was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Monday, Lt. Ryan Flood said Investigators with the Sheriff's Office identified 29 year old Lee Nathaniel Washington Jr. as the suspect and obtained warrants for Murder, Possession of a Deadly Weapon and Felon in Possession.
Investigators learned that Washington Jr. shot Slade after an altercation.
Washington Jr. is in the custody of the Easley Police Department, arrested on unrelated charges.
He will be transferred to face Greenville County charges at a later date.

(GREENVILLE, SC) - Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have identified a suspect in the June 13th shooting death of George Slade.
Investigators have obtained warrants on 29 year-old, Lee Nathaniel Washington, Jr. for Murder, Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime and Felon in Possession after investigators learned Washington shot the victim following an altercation.
The victim’s body was found in front of 302 McGarity Street and he was pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later. Washington, Jr. was arrested by the Easley Police Department and is being held on unrelated charges. His transfer date to Greenville is unknown at this time.
