A September 13th crash on New Cut Road has resulted in fatality.
Joseph Gilbert of Easley was driving a tractor trailer on New Cut Road when a Moped coming from the opposite direction crossed the center line and hit Gilberts left front.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Joe Hovis, the Moped driver was not wearing a helmet and ejected from the bike. The rider was transported to Spartanburg Regional.
Gilbert was not injured nor charged in the accident.
The Moped driver died at the Hospital Tuesday, September 24th.
The name of the rider has not been released.
