Motorcyclist Killed

Anderson County, June 20th, 2020.

Corporal Matt Southern of the South Carolina Highway Patrol Released the following Statement.

Earlier this morning at 1:17am, a motorcyclist was traveling south bound on Interstate 85 near the 34-mile marker.

The rider ran off the road striking a street sign and then a tree. The rider was then thrown from the motorcycle and was fatally injured despite wearing a helmet.

The motorcycle continued traveling south bound striking another tree before catching fire. The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The victim has not yet been identified.
