Released by the Greenville County Library System.

The Greenville County Library System is pleased to announce that starting July 6, the Hughes Main Library has reopened and Curbside Holds Pickup service has been expanded to include all library branch locations.

The hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 10a-8p, Friday-Saturday 10a-5p, and closed on Sundays.

Hughes Main Library on Heritage Green in downtown Greenville will be open for computer use, brief browsing, and visits to the South Carolina Room by appointment.

Visitors will be required to wear a mask upon entering the building and when receiving assistance from library staff.

Those without a mask will be provided one.

Building occupancy will be limited and monitored to allow for physical distancing.

Library staff are happy to assist visitors in finding their selections.

To facilitate physical distancing, some furnishings in the Hughes Main Library have been rearranged or removed.

Most notably, the Herman N. Hipp Technology Center is now located just inside the library entrance.

The area features over 20 public computers spaced six-feet apart and an assistive technology station, as well as self-service printing, scanning, and photocopying stations.

Public computers are available on a walk-in basis or by calling 864-527-9223 to make a reservation.

Computer use sessions are limited to one hour per day per user.

Audiovisual materials and a self-checkout kiosk have been moved to the upper level.

Meeting spaces, including conference rooms, are for staff use only until further notice.

Library seating is only available for computer users.

Curbside Holds Pickup service at all branch library locations is available to cardholders who have been notified they have items ready for pickup.

To place an item on hold, cardholders can log into their account online at greenvillelibrary.org or call any library location.

Curbside Holds Pickup service is no longer available at the Hughes Main Library.
