The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is announcing an eighth arrest today in a burglary investigation at the old Dunlop plant in Westminster.
26 year old Tyler Scott Belcher of Hunting Hollow Road in Six Mile was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 2:18am Saturday.
Belcher has been charged in arrest warrants obtained by investigators with two counts each of Second Degree Burglary and Malicious Injury to Property while also being charged with one count each of Petit Larceny and Grand Larceny.
According to arrest warrants, Belcher is accused of breaking into the Old Dunlop plant on or about February 1st, 2020 and again on February 24th, 2020 while also causing damage to the plant as well, which included the circuit breakers and electrical conduit.
Belcher is also accused of stealing non-ferrous metal and an electronic item from the property on February 24th of this year.
At this time, Belcher remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center on a combined $52,125 surety bond.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
