Released by the Greenwood Police Department.
Greenwood Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of Jakevius Lamont Parker which occurred Tuesday, March 3, 2020 on Pearl Street.
Jitavius Daquan Adams, 21 years of age, of Anderson, SC has been charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.
On 3/3/2020 at approximately 08:15 am, officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area of Pearl Street and Spring Valley Road.
When the first officers arrived on the scene moments later, the victim was found in the roadway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.
Officers and EMS attempted to save the victim, but he was deceased.
Witnessess in the area and the person who called dispatch reported a description of a wehvile that was believed to be involved.
Through subsequent investigation, detectives identified the suspect and obtained warrants on him.
Adams was located and arrested this morning (3/6/2020) by deputies with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office.
He has been transferred back to Greenwood and booked into the Greenwood County Detention Center.
