A Waterloo man was killed in a pedestrian involved crash early this morning.
The accident happened Todd Quarter Road near Waterloo in Laurens County.
Joseph John Gargano, 71, got out of his stalled vehicle around 6:40 AM.
Highway Patrol reports Gargano was attempting to cross the northbound lane when a 1999 Chevy Tahoe traveling south tried to avoid hitting stalled vehicle and hit Gargano.
The Laurens County Coroner’s Office said Gargano died at the scene.
The investigation conducted by the county coroner and SCHP is ongoing.
