A petition to re-open hair salons sooner than later is circulating. As of Thursday, news outlets report more than 400,000 signatures are requesting Governor McMaster to act.
Amy Howie, who created the petition, requests that licensed beauty professionals be able to service one client at a time in the salon, privately, starting Monday April 27th.
Taking all precautionary measures, wearing a mask and gloves, while adhering to sanitation guidelines set by the State and Board of Health.


In a press conference Thursday, Governor McMaster reported Accelerate South Carolina will be officially announced next week.
The program will gather professionals from all career paths to find best practices to get the state back to work at the fastest speed.
In the meantime, moving in the direction of normality, The Governor gave an executive order to open public boat ramps back up for fishing and recreation; social distancing is still required.
The executive order begins today (Friday) at noon.
