Janice Cowen, State Director with Operation Lifesavers, spoke at the Greenville Amtrak station to promote the third annual Rail Safety Week.
Cowen reminded the public that trains cannot stop quickly.
It frequently takes over a mile for a train to come to a full stop.
They will be releasing videos every day with stories of accidents involving trains.
Cowen reports there were 44 crashes with trains in 2018.
There were 19 incidents where people were trespassing on the tracks that same year.
