Voting is under way for the Rescue Brew Beer Label Contest! 

Palmetto Brewery, situated in the Low Country, is releasing a special brew this Fall in which a rescue dog and cat will appear on the label. 

The public gets to decide from over 500 dogs and cats who should be a finalist.   

Each vote costs $1, but all for a great cause, to benefit the Charleston Animal Society. 

The winning dog and cat will be announced November 21st.

Charleston, SC – Public voting to select the Charleston Animal Society Spokesdog and Spokescat who will appear on the labels of the “2020 Rescue Brew Beer” from Palmetto Brewing Company is now underway.  With well over 500 dogs and cats entered in this first ever contest, the competition to select three finalist dogs and three finalist cats will be fierce.  Each $1 vote cast at www.CharlestonAnimalSociety.org/RescueBrew supports the lifesaving programs of Charleston Animal Society.  Voting begins September 9, 2020 and continues until October 8, 2020.  From the finalists, one Grand Prize Winning Dog and one Grand Prize Winning Cat will be selected by our celebrity judges to appear on the labels and will be announced on November 21, 2020. 
 
The winning dog and cat will each appear on the labels for the special fall release of the 2020 Rescue Brew Beer.  “Rescue Brew brings back a Palmetto favorite for the 2020 holiday season – Peace of Cookie,” said Collin Clark, Director of Brand Development for Palmetto Brewing.  “All of us here at Palmetto are thrilled to be able to bring this beer back in support of Charleston Animal Society this year, and we’re sure all the dog and cat lovers out there will enjoy it as much as we do.  Inspired by your favorite cookie, whether that’s a classic sugar cookie or the ultimate chocolate chip, Peace of Cookie is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.”  The 2020 Rescue Brew Beer will be available at the Palmetto Brewing Company Charleston Taproom this fall.
 
“We are telling everyone to vote early and often for the Rescue Brew Beer finalists because every $1 vote cast benefits the lifesaving work at Charleston Animal Society,” said Charleston Animal Society’s President and CEO Joe Elmore, CFRE, CAWA. “We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate the unconditional love that animals bring to our lives and partner with Palmetto Brewing Company, WCSC Live 5 News, Charleston City Paper and Cupcake DownSouth to find the first Spokesdog and Spokescat for the 2020 Rescue Brew Beer.”  The three finalist dogs and three finalist cats will each receive a $100 gift certificate for pet supplies at Charleston Animal Society and a “Mega Pupcake” from Cupcake DownSouth.
