Panelists included SC State Epidemiologist Dr. Linda Bell, Lt. Governor Pamela Evette, Chairman Murrell Smith, SC Senator Thomas Alexander, and SCBIO CEO Sam Konduros. Sam Konduros moderated as the panelists discussed navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic, how to safely reopen, and economic development strategies.

Chairman Murrell Smith discussed the importance of the science industry in South Carolina.

Building off of his comment, Senator Thomas Alexander said it is important to support American made items in this time, especially the life sciences industry.

"If it can be built, if it can be developed here, we want it to be from that standpoint," Alexander said.

Dr. Linda Bell shared a graphic which shows the experience with the global pandemic in South Carolina.
