Senior Action, a non-profit organization that helps keep the older generation active, is now handing out FREE meals.

The addition to the program is for ANYONE over the age of 60.

While continuing to slow the spread of Coronavirus, in which those 65+ are most susceptible according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Senior Action is making it possible for Seniors to avoid grocery store trips to keep food on the table.

Those 60+ do not need to be a member of Senior Action in order to receive the free meals.

Distribution will take place at various locations throughout Greenville County in an effort to reach those in need.

MEAL RESERVATIONS must be made by calling 864-467-3660

Meals will be handed out drive-thru style at these 7 locations:

Senior Action Headquarters - 50 Directors Drive just off Orchard Park Drive

Simpsonville Activity & Senior Center -  310 West Curtis Street, Simpsonville

Slater-Marietta - Call 864-467-3660 for specific location

Berea Community Center - 6 Hunts Bridge Road, Greenville

Long Branch Baptist Church - 28 Bolt Street, Greenville

Pleasant Valley Connection - 510 Old Augusta Road, Greenville

Greer Needmore Center - 202 Canteen Avenue, Greer

Pick-up times are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:30am to 12pm (noon).

Two meals will be provided Monday and Wednesday, three on Friday.

Senior Action Press release information:

If you are unable to pick up your own food, you can send someone to pick it up for you. But Senior Action does request you call to reserve your own meals.
Please help us spread the word about this, and offer to come pick up food for your senior neighbors, parents, grandparents, church members, etc.
We want to feed as many seniors in Greenville County as we possibly can!
Senior Action is also offering a prescription pick-up service for people who need prescriptions picked up, but don’t feel comfortable going or can’t get to the pharmacy.
Please call to request that service as well.
