The City of Spartanburg takes Social Distancing to the next level.

In a Teleconference Thursday, Spartanburg City Council voted 7 to zero in and Emergency Ordinance to take all "reasonable measures to stop the spread of the Coronavirus."

The new social distancing measures will be in force for 15 days.

They include staying at home except for the purpose of gathering necessities such as food, medicine and urgent care needs, working at essential businesses or to exercise outside.

Law Enforcement has been authorized to disband groups of 3 or more people gathering together in public areas, using discretion.

Everyone is expected and is strongly encouraged to practice social distancing at all times when in public, a six feet distance between persons.

Community members with questions can call the City at 864-594-7208 or email at SocialDistancing@Spartanburg.org
