A new apple could soon be in produce departments.
After 20 years of study and research, Washington State Fruit breeders have developed an apple that is out of this world.
The "Cosmic Crisp" apple.
According to www.cosmiccrisp.com it got it's name because of the starburst-like lenticels, those are raised pores, on the skin. And against the rich red, gives it the appearance of sparkling.
The Honey Crisp apple is parent to the Cosmic Crisp.
