Another south Carolina newspaper is stopping the presses after 170 years.
The Union Times, founded in 1850, blames the pandemic for its demise.
The Times had cut back to twice-a-week publication in 2015, but yesterday's front page story said the economic downtown was too much to survive.
Three South Carolina Lowcountry papers also published their final editions this week - Bamberg's Advertizer-Herald and its sister newspapers, The Santee Striper and The Holly Hill Observer.
