First responders and clean up crews have been working to clean up the Seneca and Easley areas today following a tornado which struck early in the morning.

Many roads were blocked, becoming particularly congested just west of Seneca and Woodburn.

Buildings, cars, and construction were damaged.

Sam Brown Road in Seneca had several trees downed in yards; some of which struck houses.

The metal structure of a carwash being built on US-76 in Pendleton was twisted and lay crumpled on the ground.

Clemson University reported a few downed trees in the morning, which were cleared away by the afternoon.
Alerts on campus screens updated those still in the area.

The alert read, "Limited damage to campus, but many personnel had damage and/or are without power. University closed state-wide and online instruction."
