Two people considered persons-of-interest in a double homicide in Anderson County last weekend are in custody in Hart County Georgia on unrelated charges.

Payton Skylar Call and Lester Piercefield were in a vehicle stopped for speeding Sunday evening on 85 in Hart County by Georgia Troopers and were taken into custody by the Hart County Sheriff's Office.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a stolen gun which South Carolina authorities believe may be involved in the deaths of 57-year-old Billy Ray Johnson and 30-year-old Amy Jo Lambert who were killed in Townville on August 22. Their bodies were found in a burned out camper on Cedar Grove Road.

Payton Call was issued a traffic ticket and charged with receiving stolen property related to the gun.  Troopers discovered cocaine in Piercefield's possession for which he received charges for in addition to stolen property charges also related to the gun.

On Wednesday, the Anderson County Sheriff's Office said they had handed over the investigation to SLED once investigators learned that a person who may be connected to the case has a family member who works for the sheriff's office.

A SLED Spokesman confirmed Agents interviewed Call and Piercefield Thursday, believing the two are suspects in the Townville double homicide case.

Investigators ask anyone with information on the case to call 1-888-CRIME-SC.
