Over the past several months, the Special Investigations Division has been investigating a methamphetamine distribution ring operating in the Anderson area.
During the course of the investigation, several people have been identified as significant methamphetamine distributors.
This investigation consisted of drug purchases, surveillance, search warrants, and traffic stops conducted in the Anderson area.
Because of these enforcement actions, 37 arrests have been made, with several of the targets being arrested more than once during the operation.
During this ongoing investigation, a total of 28,789.4 grams (63.47 lbs.) of methamphetamine has been seized in the operation named “Twice the Ice”.
These seizures have made a significant impact on the meth distribution in the Anderson area and this group was responsible for a large portion of the methamphetamine seized during 2019 by the Special Investigation Division.
In addition to the nearly 64 pounds of methamphetamine that was seized, 25 firearms were also seized from the individuals arrested during this operation.
The Special Investigations Division is continuing their enforcement and further arrests are expected.
