Press Release from the Oconee County Sheriff's Office:

(Walhalla, SC) --- The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Oconee County men earlier this morning on drug trafficking charges.

35 year old Ferrell Franklin Spivey of Wrangler Way in Seneca and 41 year old Douglas Chad Bryson, who has listed addresses of Crowes Roost Road in Walhalla and Chappell Drive in Salem, were booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 5:26am and 5:55am this morning respectively.

Spivey and Bryson have been charged with one count each of Trafficking in Methamphetamine while Spivey was also issued two traffic tickets, one for Driving under Suspension and for being a Habitual Traffic Offender.

A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division, on routine patrol just before 1am this morning, executed a traffic stop on a vehicle towing a large trailer on Burns Mill Road and Crystal Falls Road near West Union.  The deputy made contact with the driver, Spivey, and was notified by dispatch that Spivey’s license had been suspended.

Spivey gave verbal consent for the vehicle to be searched.  There were two other occupants in the vehicle, Bryson and another man.  While searching the vehicle, the deputy discovered a quantity of narcotics inside of the vehicle.

Based upon their proximity to the location where the drugs were discovered in the vehicle, the deputy placed Spivey and Bryson under arrest.  The third man was released from the scene.  The vehicle, a black Chevrolet Suburban, was towed away from the scene.

Spivey and Bryson were transported to the Oconee County Detention Center, where they both remain in custody at this time pending a bond hearing.
