The University of South Carolina has canceled their in-person commencement ceremony.
President Bob Caslen announced on July 11 that the in-person commencement ceremony, conditionally scheduled for August 8th, was canceled because of the steep increase in COVID-19 cases in South Carolina.
The ceremony will now be held virtually on August 8th at noon.
According to the USC website, graduates will be invited back for an in-person ceremony when large gatherings are possible.
