The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westminster man late last week on a charge of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – Third Degree.
32 year old Robert Grayson Alexander, Jr. was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 3:49am last Friday morning.
Alexander, Jr. was given a $10,000 surety bond and was released from the Detention Center on Saturday, March 21st after posting bond.
An investigator in the Criminal Investigations Division was notified in November of 2019 of possible child sexual abuse involving Alexander, Jr. and a minor female victim, who was the only victim.
The victim was in a safe location when the investigator was notified about the reported sexual assault.
The investigation was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division.
As the investigation continued and evidence was gathered in the case, it was determined that Alexander, Jr. had assaulted the minor between October of 2018 and March of 2019 at a location near Westminster.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation and due to preserving the integrity of the investigation and that of the victim, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing any further information at this time, including any and all information that could potentially identify the victim in the case.
