Greenville is known for its many festivals and free concerts, but this year, there will be a few less than in years past.
The city has announced that, because of the proposed plans for the renovation of the Wyche Pavilion, the Reedy River Concerts will not take place this year.
"This difficult decision was based on our commitment to providing a high-quality event experience for our concert attendees," reads a release from the City of Greenville.

The city board could not come to an agreement on the proposal, which some said did not fit in with the structure's history and was out of character with traditional public access. The renovation plans are currently being reworked.
