The Greenville County Sheriff's Office issued the following press release Sunday evening.
The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is asking any one that is a Verizon customer living in the unincorporated areas of Greenville County will not be able to use 911.
Verizon is aware of the issue and is working to fix it. Until then the Greenville County Sheriff's Office is advising anyone that is a Verizon customer that needs emergency or nonemergency assistance to dial 864 271-5210 and option 8 to get a dispatcher.
A sheriff's office spokesman says he will update the media, as soon as Verizon has fixed the problem.
