The Office of Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins issued the following press release Thursday.
Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins states that JAMES PRINCE NASH, age 34, pled guilty to Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor Second Degree September 4, 2019.
Nash was sentenced to 20 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections by the Honorable Letitia H. Verdin, the maximum sentence for that charge. As a part of his sentence, Nash will have lifetime GPS and he will be on the South Carolina Sex Offender Registry.
Evidence presented at the plea hearing by Assistant Solicitor Christy Kednocker Sustakovitch established that in April 2018, the thirteen year old victim in the case disclosed that Nash had beensexually abusing her for several years.
The child told a family member about the abuse and that family member went to police the next day with the child’s disclosure. A dual investigation began with Travelers Rest Police and Greenville County Sheriff’s Office based on the locations where the abuse occurred. The child was interviewed at the Julie Valentine Center where she gave a detailed account of sexual abuse.
