Suspension Upheld For 2 Clemson Players

Two suspended Clemson football players had their suspension appeals denied, and will now miss the entirety of the 2019 season.

Tight end, Braden Galloway, and offensive lineman, Zach Giella, were both suspended after trace amounts of Ostarine were detected in both players’ NCAA drug tests back in December 2018.

Galloway and Giella have both maintained they have no knowledge of how the banned substance entered their bodies. The two student-athletes even took a polygraph test to confirm their assertions.

Current NCAA policy requires suspended players to explain the cause of the positive test result, even for trace amounts.

In a statement made by Galloway and Giella’s legal representation Friday morning, the two student-athletes thanked Clemson University for its support, and said they are in complete agreement with the NCAA that performance enhancing drugs have no place in college athletics.

Galloway and Giella also said they will have no further comment on this matter.
