Another person has been charged in the 2019 murder of an Anderson 11-year-old.
On June 23, 2019, around 1:30 AM, Ja-Naiya Scott was in an Anderson home with 11-year-old cousin and 18-year-old sister when the assailants began firing on the home from the outside.
The three victims were taken to a local hospital where Scott was later pronounced dead.
The Anderson Police Department now reports 21-year-old Desmond Bruton has been charged with murder, four counts of attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime; he was denied bond.
Stephen Braden Powell, 17, was arrested last July and charged with murder and four counts of attempted murder.
