Donors Pay Licensure Fee For GTC Nursing Graduates

Greenville Technical College's nursing graduates received a $7,000 gift from two anonymous donors.
Becky Mann, Institutional & Executive Public Relations with GTC, reports the donors contacted the school within the last two months looking for a creative way to support nursing graduates during the pandemic.
Tammy McConnell, Academic Program Chair of Nursing Prog at GTC, said this was a way for the college to celebrate their students.
"Out students were not allowed to graduate this year and they haven't been able to participate in their nursing pinning which are two very momentous occasions to give them accolades for all their hard work at the end of the year. This is just a small way we can celebrate them," McConnell said.
The students were greeted with a line of GTC faculty cheering for them as they received their gift cards.
The donors ultimately paid the $200 fee for the licensure exam (NCLEX RN) for all 35 nursing graduates.
The 35 nursing graduates picked up their $200 gift cards today at GTC's Barton Campus.
They also signed a thank-you note for the donors.
