Today a public funeral service was held for Sgt. Conley Jumper of the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.
The funeral began at 9 a.m. at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena; immediately following, a procession traveled southbound on Interstate 385 to Interstate 26E to Pomaria Cemetery for a graveside ceremony.
Sgt. Jumper died Tuesday in a roadway altercation and collision that began with a traffic stop on Interstate 85 near White horse Road. Two other deputies and two suspects involved in the traffic stop were also injured and are expected to recover.
There is also a memorial for Sgt. Jumper where the public can pay tribute to the him and his service.
The memorial is located at the bottom of the back hill entrance to the law enforcement center on Stone Avenue.
